Forming Capacity Four forming processes available, offering a maximum part size of 3m x 2m x 0.6m in aluminium alloys up to 10mm thick (at this size). Please note that sizes can be adjusted according to overall part area and material thickness and some large parts can be over 0.7m deep. Part Trimming Capacity Using cutter paths generated in Mastercam we offer high speed part trimming to close tolerances on three 5 axes machining centres, with our latest machine having a double table configuration that doubles trimming capacity. Welding Superform Aluminium are one of the very few companies who offer welding to the stringent DIN 6700-2 Klasse C1 standard (as used on the front assemblies of the Siemens Desiro UK trains). We have a special welding cell set up in our Worcester plant fitted with the very latest in welding technology, including state of the art welding jigs and holding systems to handle complex welding of large heavy parts and assemblies.
Inspection and Quality Superform are quality assured suppliers to virtually every major aerospace company in the world, and as well as being ISO 9001 rated, we are qualified to many company standards as well. We take quality very seriously indeed and our dedicated team have an impressive resource available to assist them - including a 5m x 5m table CMM facility allowing comparisons of part to master parts and original CAD data. As well as measurement checking we also undertake visual checking of all our A Class surfaced components, such as the Aston Martin Vanquish bonnet shown below right.
CADCAM,data translation and project administration With in house CATIA based tooling design and Mastercam based cutter path generation we can accept 3D CAD data in a wide range of formats: Native CATIA (.exp) Superform use Odette/Link.
