The car dimensions, the voltage systems, and the entry heights for easy boarding and exiting at station platforms have been specially adapted in accordance with the British railway market.

The front of the Desiro UK is made in two large Superformed panels measuring 2 and a half metres high, a metre wide and 700mm deep. A mammoth task by any standards, the Desiro train front is the largest and deepest component Superform has ever made.
