DIAPHRAGM FORMING: KEY FACTS

Diaphragm forming allows non superplastic alloys to be formed successfully into complex 3D shapes. Using this technique Superform have formed alloys such as 2014, 2024, 2219 and 6061, making the process ideal for forming structural airframe components. The process is also useful in cases where constant thickness is required in the finished part.

Maximum size of part (in general) 2800 x 1600 x 600mm.

In special cases one or more of these limiting dimensions may be exceeded depending on part geometry and alloy selection.
