Most formed alloys used by Superform are readily fusion welded using MIG or TIG methods with minimal loss of mechanical properties. In the material thickness encountered in formed components the TIG process is preferred. In addition to the above processes higher volume production spot and stud welding techniques are applicable to alloys such as 5083, enabling parts made from this alloy to be used in more automated assembly procedures. Superform Aluminium are also one of the very few companies to gain the stringent DIN 6700-2 Klasse C1 welding standard. This standard was achieved whilst developing production processes for the new Siemens Desiro UK train front panels, which are being manufactured at Superform's UK manufacturing plant in Worcester.

This allows Superform to offer a complete production and supply process to our customers encompassing forming and fabrication. |
